I'm an artist and art educator living in Jacksonville, FL. I teach art at the Main Library to children ages 1 to 14 and their parents. I also facilitate workshops to library staff and preschool teachers about how to be creative in their approach to art, craft and "making" projects in their respective environments. I have also taught other classes that fosters creativity in libraries for adults and teen audiences.
I have a Master's degree in Art Education from the University of Florida and a bachelor's degree in Art Education from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). My experience paired with my education allows me to pass down my knowledge to my students.
In my art, I like to re-purpose what people think is trash; call it recycling, re-purposing, upcycling... I use a lot of old print material like maps, magazines and books, since it is so widely available and so easily tossed away.
